Microsoft is releasing a new build of Windows 10 19H2, also known as the November 2019 Update, to Insiders in the Slow Ring today. But much like all the other 19H2 builds, the release of today’s build is pretty confusing, too.

The build getting released today to Insiders in the Slow Ring is build 18362.10024, which includes all the latest features and fixes. But as you may remember, the build number is different from the one Microsoft shipped last week to those on Release Preview. The company already said build 18363.418 is going to be the final build of the November 2019 Update that will get shipped to the public sometime in November. It’s also the same build that’s in Release Preview right now.

And although today’s build and the one from last week are practically the same, they are still two different build numbers because of all the plumbing work Microsoft had to do in order to be able to ship the November 2019 Update as a cumulative update to the public. So yes, 19H2 continues to be the confusing mess it’s been known from since the beginning. Here’s to hoping Microsoft will finally be able to clean up all this mess once it starts testing 20H1.
