The first Apple Music/Apple TV+ bundle deal is here, but only students can get it

Posted October 30, 2019 | Mobile | News

Announced all the way back in March and fully detailed just last month, Apple TV+ is scheduled for a long-awaited commercial release later this week. But the Cupertino-based tech giant is not done trying to sweeten the introductory deal in its heated fight against the likes of Netflix, Disney+, and HBO Max, unveiling a last-minute promotion today that will allow certain users to bundle music and video streaming services at an amazing price.

What’s crystal clear is that Apple really cares about its student subscribers, looking to kill two birds with one stone here. Paying just $4.99 a month for both Apple Music and Apple TV+ content means the company’s hardcore fans are even less likely to go for separate Disney+ and Spotify subscriptions. Unless we’re talking about Verizon customers, which can get access to the former streaming platform for free for a whole year with no special requirements or strings attached.
Of course, you can also score a gratis year of Apple TV+ with iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Mac, and Apple TV purchases made starting last month, while some of Verizon’s unlimited plans include Apple Music without any time restrictions. Bottom line, content streamers have a lot of killer deals to choose from nowadays, but students are unlikely to find anything better than Apple’s latest bundle promo.
Keep in mind that non-student Apple Music subscribers need to cough up $9.99 a month, and at least for now, they also don’t get an Apple TV+ freebie or even a discount.
