Sony is revealing some new hardware today. The company is revealing its newest Android flagship, the new Xperia 1 II (read: Xperia 1 mark 2). The company is also revealing a “super mid-range” phone today — more on that here.

The branding of the device is, obviously, pretty terrible. But aside from that, the hardware itself actually looks pretty promising. Like many other flagships in recent months, the new Xperia 1 II comes with built-in 5G connectivity.

The design of the device consists of glass on the back, and it is a pretty minimalistic and sleek design. The glass on the back and the display on the front are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. And if you need it, the headphone jack is still here.

The device is powered by the Snapdragon 865 processor, which allows for the built-in 5G connectivity. The display itself is a 6.5-inch 4K HDR OLED panel with an aspect ratio of 21:9. Under the hood, there is a 4,000mAh battery. You also get 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage with the device.

Sony is focusing heavily on the cameras of the new Xperia 1 II. First up, Sony is using Zeiss optics for the first time on a smartphone. The device boasts a triple-camera setup on the back, all three of which are 12MP. They do have different focal lengths, however: 16mm, 24mm, and 70mm, allowing users to capture different types of photos, ranging from super-wide-angle shots to portraits. There’s also a time-of-flight sensor for the super-fast autofocus Sony is promising. On the front, there is an 8MP sensor.

The new Xperia 1 II will be available in black, purple, and white, sometime this Spring. Sony is yet to reveal pricing details.
