Sony's PlayStation VR2 headset needs a wired connection to a PlayStation 5 console.

To put things in perspective, Sony’s PS VR 2 headset is $50 more expensive than Sony’s regular PlayStation 5 in the US, which is the only market where the console didn’t get a price bump last year. The original PlayStation VR headset was priced at $399 when it launched back in October 2016, and it’s still compatible with the PS5 (though it won’t support PS VR2 games).

Sony is currently the only console maker to support VR games, and it does so with a wired headset that supports 4K HDR visuals, a 110º field of view, and 3D audio. Sony sold over 5 million units of its original PlayStation VR headset, and it will be interesting to see if the PS VR2 will be able to do better throughout this new console generation.
