Samsung unveiled today its new flagship Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra smartphones, along with the new Galaxy Book3 series PC lineup. The company’s latest Galaxy smartphones bring a refined design and camera improvements, while Samsung’s latest Windows 11 PCs should improve the existing connected experience via the Link to Windows feature.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Series

The new Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra come with 6.1-inch, 6.6-inch, and 6.8-inch screens, respectively. The Ultra model also includes an embedded S pen for note-taking and other productivity or creative tasks.

Samsung says that its Galaxy S23 series uses more recycled materials compared to the S22 series, including pre-consumer recycled aluminum and glass and post-consumer recycled plastics. On the front, the screens also use a more durable Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 technology.

Under the hood, the new Galaxy S23 phones all use Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. Samsung promises up to 30% faster CPU performance and up to 41% faster GPU performance compared to the Galaxy S22 series. The Galaxy S23 and S23+ also come with 8GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of storage, while the Ultra model comes with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage.

On the camera front, Samsung has removed the contour housing around the rear sensors. The Galaxy S23 and S23+ come with a 12MP ultra-wide camera, a 50MP wide camera, and a 10MP telephoto camera. The S23 Ultra model, however, includes a 12MP ultra-wide camera, a 200MP wide camera, and two 10MP telephoto cameras. All models also include a 12MP front camera.

“Galaxy S23 Ultra makes it easier for any level of photographer to capture phenomenal content. It offers Samsung Galaxy’s most advanced camera system, tailored for nearly any lighting conditions and engineered to render incredible detail,” Samsung said today.

The Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra will be available starting on February 17. The Galaxy S23 starts at $799 and the S23 Plus starts at $999, while the S23 Ultra will start at $1,199. All models will get four generations of OS upgrades and five years of security updates.

Galaxy Book3 Series

The Galaxy Book3 lineup includes three different laptops: the thin and light Galaxy Book3 Pro, the 2-in-1 Galaxy Book3 Pro 360, and the Galaxy Book3 Ultra . The latter is Samsung’s new Premium Windows 11 laptop with top-of-the-line specs.

The Galaxy Book3 Pro is available with 14” and 16” AMOLED screens with an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate. Both models offer Intel 13th gen Core i5/i7 CPUs, up to 32GB of RAM, and up to 1TB of storage.

The Galaxy Book3 Pro 360 with its 2-in-1 convertible form factor uses a bigger 16-inch AMOLED display (still with a 120Hz refresh rate), and it offers the same CPU, memory, and storage options as the Galaxy Book3 Pro. However, there’s optional 5G connectivity in addition to Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.1. S Pen functionality is also supported on this model.

Lastly, the Galaxy Book3 Ultra also has a bigger 16” AMOLED screen with an adaptive refresh rate, but this model will ship with 13th gen Intel Core i7/i9 CPUs and Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050/4070GPUs. This is the fastest and most powerful laptop that Samsung has ever released.

The Galaxy Book3 Series will also offer seamless integration with Samsung’s latest Galaxy phones thanks to the Link to Windows/Phone link feature. The new Samsung Multi Control feature will allow users to control their Galaxy smartphone and tablet with the Galaxy Book3 keyboard and trackpad, similar to Apple’s Universal Control feature for Macs and iPads. A new Second Screen feature will also let users turn their Galaxy tablet into a second monitor.

Samsung’s Galaxy Book3 Pro will start at $1,449.99, while the Galaxy Book3 Pro will start at $1,899.99. Both models will be available in select markets starting on February 17. The Galaxy Book3 Ultra, however, will start at $2,399.99 and it will be available on February 22.
