PUBG is Coming to Microsoft Azure

Microsoft and Krafton announced today that they are bringing PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS (PUBG) and PUBG Mobile to Azure.

“Krafton [is] working with Microsoft Azure to host its portfolio of multiplatform products, including PUBG Corporation’s wildly popular battle royale, PUBG on PC and consoles and PUBG Mobile,” a Microsoft representative told me. “They’re working together to ensure personal data protection through Azure and to ensure that privacy rights are respected, and relevant software will be in full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.”

According to Krafton, which is the parent company of PUBG Corporation, it has chosen Azure largely for its personal data protection.

“Azure powers some of the biggest multiplayer games, featuring state-of-the-art security and the most comprehensive set of compliance offerings of any cloud service provider,” the firm says. “The collaboration will ensure that privacy rights are respected and relevant software will be in full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.”

Additionally, Krafton says that it will work with Microsoft to create a verification process to ensure that the storage of personally identifiable player information meets that compliance.
