Project Fi Now Supports Three More Phones

Posted May 30, 2018 | Android | Cloud | Google | Mobile | Project Fi | Windows

Once relegated solely to Google’s own handsets, Project Fi has been slowly opening up its support of other phones. Today, Google announced that Project Fi supports three new phones.

“One of the top requests we hear is for more choices of Fi-friendly phones,” Project Fi’s Alex Zheng writes. “That’s why we’re introducing three new phones coming soon to Project Fi: the moto g6, LG G7 ThinQ, and LG V35 ThinQ.”

Previous to this announcement, Google’s Project Fi network was compatible with Nexus and Pixel-branded handsets plus the Moto X4. So today’s update is a significant change that actually doubles the number of handsets you can optionally purchase with the service: In addition to the moto g6, LG G7 ThinQ, and LG V35 ThinQ, Project Fi also offers the Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL and the Moto X4 for sale.

And the new phones are reasonably priced for what they are. The Moto g6 normally costs just $249, but it’s available for only $199 on Project Fi. The LG G7 ThinQ and V35 ThinQ are both flagship-class devices that cost $749 and $899, respectively. And Project Fi does offer 0 percent financing if you want to put that new phone on your bill.
