Pixel 4 camera specs, launch date and Motion Sense countries leak, astrophotography is a thing
We are a few hours away from the Pixel 4/XL unveiling but retailers are waving the white flag on NDAs, and have posted their Google phone pages already. The Pixel 4 has been thoroughly leaked by Mediamarkt now, costing 749 in euros or $799, with a launch date of October 22, while the 4 XL will run you $899. Pretty stingy with the 64GB basic storage but we digress.
From the things we weren’t quite sure about, we learn that the camera specs include a 16 MP telephoto camera with f/2.4 aperture, in addition to the 12MP main sensor with f/1.7. Selfies will be taken by an 8MP fixed-focus snapper with comparatively narrow 90 degree range.
The big news is that the specs list indeed confirms the rumored “astrophotography” and “Dual exposure” features, and Google even advises to put the Pixel 4 on a tripod and in a Night Sight mode to take better pictures of the galaxies above you. Huawei started it! The Dual exposure option lets you adjust the brightness of tricky sections in the frame on the fly with a slider in the viewfinder.
