Microsoft Will Fix Xbox Wireless Controller Issue
Responding to customer complaints about connectivity issues with the new Xbox Wireless Controller, Microsoft says it will fix the problem.
“At Microsoft, we put all of our products through rigorous quality assurance testing and are committed to providing customers with an unparalleled gaming experience,” a Microsoft statement explains. “We are aware some players may be experiencing disconnects with their new Xbox Wireless Controllers and our teams are actively working on a solution to be included in a future update.”
You can see the complaints for yourself in this Microsoft help forum. It seems that a wide range of users is experiencing controller disconnects when playing certain games on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. To be clear, this is with the new Xbox Wireless Controller that shipped alongside the Series X|S. Also, I’ve never experienced this issue.
For now, Microsoft recommends that customers update to the latest controller firmware version. You can find instructions on the Xbox Support website.
