Microsoft Releases New Windows 11 Insider Builds for the Beta Channel

Posted September 12, 2022 | Windows | Windows 11 | Windows Insider

Microsoft has just released the Windows 11 Insider builds 22621.598 and 22622.598 for Insiders on the Dev Channel. This channel is still split into two groups, with only one of them having new features turned on by default. However, there are still bug fixes shipping to both groups of Insiders today.

The Windows 11 build 22622.598 shipping to the group of Insiders testing new features includes a couple of notable changes. First of all, testers will no longer be able to uninstall apps with inter-dependencies, such as games installed via Steam. It also won’t be possible to repair Win32 apps under Settings > Apps > Installed apps. This is a temporary restriction that only affects Windows apps with interdependencies.

Moreover, the Windows 11 build 22622.598 brings a couple of fixes for File Explorer. Microsoft addressed a bug where you couldn’t interact with the top part of File Explorer when the app was full screen, and there’s also a fix for an issue causing command bar items like copy, paste, and empty recycle bin to be unexpectedly disabled.

The two groups of Beta Channel Insiders are also receiving a fix for an issue that created a duplicate print queue, as well as a fix for another issue affecting Roaming User Profiles. That’s it for this rare Monday flight, which was announced right when Apple made iOS 16 available on compatible iPhones.
