Less than a day after Microsoft delivered a new Windows 10 Insider Preview build to Fast ring testers, it has provided a new build for those on Skip Ahead too.

“Today we are releasing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 16362 for PC to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring who have opted in to Skip Ahead only,” Microsoft’s Dona Sarkar explains. “Insiders who joined Skip Ahead will continue to receive builds from the RS_PRERELEASE branch which has transitioned to RS4 which is the release that will come after the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update (RS3).”

These Skip Ahead builds are inherently interesting because they represent the next version of Windows 10 after the Fall Creators Update. And, they provide new features as well.

Among the new features in build 16362 are:

Improved boot experience. If the lock screen remains displayed for a few seconds, your lock screen personalization—Windows Spotlight, and/or status information from Cortana, Calendar, Mail, and more—will appear. (This applies only to home PCs, not those managed by businesses.)

Narrator improvements. You can now select the desired audio channel for Narrator speech output.

Windows shell improvements. Microsoft fixed various bugs in the shell, plus a display issue in Action Center.

Microsoft Edge improvements. Microsoft fixed numerous issues in Edge.

Gaming improvements. Microsoft fixed issues with two games, Ghost Recon: Wildlands and Train Simulator 2017.

Input improvements. Microsoft fixed numerous issues with the IME.

Other fixes. There are numerous other small changes.
