After a 13-month delay, it’s finally here! Halo Infinite is available across Xbox One and Series X|S, PC, Xbox Game Pass, and Xbox Cloud Gaming.

“The Banished have defeated UNSC forces and seized the mysterious Zeta Halo, putting the survival of humankind at risk,” Microsoft’s Will Tuttle writes in the announcement post. “Halo Infinite invites you to step inside the armor of humanity’s greatest hero, the Master Chief, confront the most ruthless foe he’s ever faced, and protect humanity, no matter the cost.”

With that kind of coverage—plus free multiplayer, which is continuing past the beta, Halo Infinite is the most accessible version of the game yet. And based on my early access, it’s also the best Halo title since the original three games.

“The Halo Infinite campaign experience combines a linear mission structure that will be familiar to longtime fans with a brand-new exploration of the expansive surface of Zeta Halo,” Tuttle continues. “​Set on the sprawling ringworld, the game sees the Master Chief journey across foreboding warships, vast Forerunner interiors, and more, collectively creating the largest-scale campaign in franchise history.”
