Apple is launching a new COVID-19 screening tool to provide people with guidance and information in the United States. The new screening tool is available on the web as a regular website, and Apple is also launching a mobile app.

Apple says the company built the new screening tool in partnership with the CDC, as well as the White House Coronavirus Task Force and FEMA. The website for the screening tool can be accessed by anyone, however, the mobile app seems to be limited to users in the United States.

The new app will ask users a series of question about things like symptoms, recent exposure, any recent travels, etc. It will then use the official CDC information and guidance to recommend next steps, including determining whether a test is recommended. The tool also provides guidance on social distancing and self-isolating.

“Users will receive answers to frequently asked questions about COVID-19, including who is most at risk and how to recognize symptoms. In addition, they will learn the most up-to-date information from the CDC like best practices for washing hands, disinfecting surfaces and monitoring symptoms,” said Apple.

Apple also recently started allowing users in the United States to get help with coronavirus questions via Siri.
