Amazon Halo View is Now Available

Posted December 8, 2021 | Amazon Halo | Amazon Halo View | wearables | Windows

Amazon’s new health tracker is now available, offering a choice of bands and a full year of the Halo subscription membership for $79.99. It joins the original Halo wearable, which was screenless and came with some quirky features.

“Customers tell us Halo is having a meaningful impact on their lives, offering important insights and tools they need to meet their health goals,” Amazon vice president Melissa Cha said when the firm first announced Halo View. “We’re excited to add even more to Halo, with new experiences to help members work out and nourish their bodies, plus Halo View, a new fitness tracker that adds a display, lowers the price, and comes bundled with a full year of Halo membership included for just $79.99.”

Halo View can be had with an Active Black, Lavender Dream, or Sage Green sport band, and additional bands are available as well. It tracks health metrics like heart rate, activity, and sleep, and offers on-demand blood oxygen levels. And you can receive text message notifications, start live workouts, and get movement reminders right on the device. Halo also provides movement assessments, daily meditations, recipes, and more through the Halo mobile app, and it works with Alexa: you can ask any Alexa-enabled device to give you your health summary, activity score, sleep quality, and more.

After the first year is up, the Halo membership with auto-renew at $3.99 per month. Obviously, this device significantly undercuts similar Fitbit devices—the similar Fitbit Luxe is $149.95—and the Fitbit Premium service, which costs $9.99 per month or $79.99 per year. Whether it can meet or exceed those offerings is, of course, unknown right now. But you can learn more from the Amazon website.
