Amazon Brings Free Music Videos, Business News, More to Fire TV

Amazon has started rolling out free music videos and other video content to Fire TV users in the US. Amazon has teamed up with the interactive music video platform XITE to bring “tens of thousands” of free music videos with personalized suggestions based on users’ likes and viewing history.
If you’re ok with seeing ads once in a while, YouTube is probably the best source for free music videos on your TV. However, Amazon wants to change that on its Fire TV platform. Just like on YouTube, the music videos on Amazon Fire TV will be ad-supported, but users will be able to search for artists and tracks and skip to the next video without restrictions.
To access music videos on Fire TV, users will need to download a new app from the Amazon App Store. Once installed, the Music Videos app will support Alexa voice commands.
In addition to free music videos, Fire TV users will also be able to watch free business videos from Bloomberg, The Street, CNBC, and other sources. The new free video offerings also include entertainment news, gaming news, and viral videos, which will be joining the existing sports, trending trailers, and food & cooking categories.
2022 was quite a big year for Amazon’s Fire TV platform. A new user interface started rolling out earlier this year, followed by a Gaming Hub featuring Amazon’s Luna game streaming service. This fall, Amazon also launched its 3rd-gen Amazon Fire TV Cube, a new Alexa Voice Remote Pro, as well as the Fire TV Omni QLED Series smart TVs. Amazon has also continued to aggressively promote its Fire TV HDMI sticks throughout the year, and next year should be no different.
